ALOA's Robert Bell museum was started by Mr. Bell in the late 1970's IIRC. The colection is made up exclusively from donations by members.

There is a preserved shop of a locksmith in the museum, inside the castle at Acre, Israel.

It would seem the Science Museum in London has seen fit to close the lock exhibit which included the Bramah shop facade. There is a new door indicating construction works for the area are in progress and no signs giving any information whether this is permanent.

The few locks scattered among other exhibits on the ground floor are still in place.

Dear friends and valued visitors! Due to the corona pandemic, our museum, like all other museums in Austria, is temporarily closed. In order to encourage you to visit virtually, we have changed our homepage somewhat. On the first page you can now see a 3D video about the museum. Here you can comfortably walk through all rooms from home and look at the showcases. https://my.matterport.com/show/?m=n7j7pMxUShH

If you are interested, you can then study our "Object of the Month". Of these, 9 are also available directly on the first page. All the other 39 selected pieces from the Schell Collection can be found under the "View into the Museum" button, then please click on the "Object of the Month" button. All articles are richly illustrated and offer comprehensive background information on the individual works of art.

If you have any questions or suggestions, or if you would like to have researched another, personal favorite object of the Schell Collection, please write to us. museum@schell-collection.com We would also like to draw your attention to our app. You can download the app on your smartphone under Schell Collection. You will see 9 interactive tours and can choose between German and English. https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...llection&hl=de

We look forward to your reactions and messages - keep in touch with us. And please, stay healthy! Your team from the Schell Collection in Graz.
