    Thanks for all the information BBE :)

    I tried to fit the core with only one spring and as you said it is not that efficient then. I prefer it with two of those v springs.

    While putting the padlock back together I have recognised that the nail has to aimed at the bottom, just in case anyone wonders why. The spring fits perfectly into a deep hole at the shackle so it won't twist there. The nail will then prevent the spring from twisting at the bottom of the hole where the shackle fits in.
