    Default Hallo from Germany

I just figured that I forgot to introduce myself...

I am Adrian Weber (Weaver) and I am from Germany. I study secondary education but I am into safes and security since I'm 6. years old. Especially into a company called Garny which sadly doesn't exist any longer. I got addicted to Garny and safes when my mother took me to vault room of the bank she still works at. In the last two years I had a few but very interesting jobs as a private security advisor. This also motivated me to get more into it, because my feedback was very good. I just approved my security manager at the VDS in cologne (CFPA certificate) and I'm going to do my security advisor in June (again VDS in cologne and again a CFPA certificate). I would like to work in security (I mean not just as a side job) but there was no good opportunity yet. My speciality is individual high security solutions like panic rooms and strong rooms and of course home security and luxury safes (I had the opportunity to visit the manufacturer of Stockinger safe last year). My web page is still under construction but we are going to make some progress soon :)

Thanks alot for the open welcome so far!

Welcome aboard Adrian, I for one have enjoyed your posts and input. Are you diceman on youtube? I to love a good security padlock, but my main interests are the older antique padlocks from the turn of the last century. Mark

    hallo adrian,

Could you please post in English so that everyone learns how good the weather is in Southern Germany, not just us linguists?
    Cheers

Hey oldbiscuit your welcome! Yes I am diceman and I also love the old padlocks but I don't have many because the really nice ones are usually very expensive on ebay etc. But sometimes you just get this connection you know? Like "I need this lock!" just because you feel connected to it. Do you have a video or pics of your collection? I'd really like to see it!

Oh and Tom he is just saying that he hasn't met many Germans here yet and that I am obviously at the right place here. He also says that he is into old keys, mainly the very old ones which were still made by hand and that this specialisation is maybe a bit too exotic/old even for this board :)

    Hi Adrian:

Yes those Ebay locks & keys are great but so is the price.
Must be some people with lots of money to spend who win them?

I also am fascinated with handmade keys.
Made from solid metal stock; Lost Wax; brazing; or sand casting.

The large padlock was also listed for Prison and Jail use.
They were used in the minimum security areas.
I have a brass Sargent padlock about the same size
that I found at a Antique Market for a good price.

Finding local locks and keys in person are cheaper then Ebay

Dicey, here are a few pics of part of my collection. Most of my locks are in boxes till I get my new shop built and have space to properly display them.
