Question Would like help identifying this padlock...

I found this lock and it appears to be old. The key can only be removed from the lock once the hasp is closed. I tried to find any identifying markings but was unable to find any. I don't have any idea what the emblem is on this lock either. If anyone has any information about this lock I would really appreciate it! Thank you for your time!

That is a strange looking lock, I wonder if it's not Europian or Asian. Where did you find it ? That might help in trying to identify it. The emblem almost looks like a comic book sultans hat. As to age, just guessing by the chrome bail and the paint (looks textured) and the brass key,I'de think it's from the 1930's to the 1950's. But like I said that's just a guess

My guess would be 1950-70s and India or China without seeing the other side of the lock, lock keyhole or keys second side.

I wonder if it is an early Tricircle lock-still not very old though...

Default Additional pictures of lock with sultan's hat for identification

Hi! Here are some additional pictures of the lock I found. I don't think it would be of much use to say that I found it in the trunk of a used car I purchased...Anyhow, I hope someone can provide any additional information on this lock's origin. Thank you!

I can't offer any more info on the lock itself, but I do believe the emblem depicts a Chinese good luck lantern.

After looking at more pictures of it, I agree with Dean as to the age and origin.
