    Default please fill in the blanks....WHITE'S PATENT

    "National Safe & Lock Co.
    CLEVELAND, O.
    WHITE"S PAT???????????????1882 & FEB. 12,1884"

    is "PATENT" written out or abbreviated?...need missing first date also.

    Close Dean but it is a 1882 patent #262,872 on Aug 15. Matt, call Al at Guardian and have him look at that early National with the dates painted on it. Doug

    Thank you Halflock for posting....my printer is running as i type.

    Now....my National safe has two Yale locks...one on the outer door, the other on the inner door....this patent is for White's safe lock...would this suggest that White eventually replaced his own lock with Yale's?...if so, it could really help pinpoint the date of Mfg. on my National. Hmmmmm....

    Doug...the Patent on Al's cool, smaller National must have been for the "spring-loaded" panel that would compress and create a "seal" against the inner portion of the safe when closed??...therefore it would be wrong for me to paint it on the face of my National...correct? Though they must be nearly the same date as the handles on my Nat. are exactly the same as the ones on Al's. Golly...what to do?
