    Cool Key

    Hi Folks,
Looking for a flat double bitted key to open a Star Lock Works padlock, brass, crab style, patented in March 1870 patent #100402, by Louis Hillebrand. If I find this key I will feel like I've won the Lotto. Thanks Reba729

If the padlock looks like the one Mark posted then contact your local locksmith and ask for a double flag bit and post key Or ask them to get the size on a key from Bluedog keys #BD532 on page 24. I think it might be close enough to make it work.

    Default Found a key

    Halflock
Bought a bag of cheap keys and two of them opened my lock after I WD-40'd it. Hadn't been opened about 55 years so guess it was a bit sticky. Have to put a finger in the shackle hole to add pressure but in 2 or 3 tries it opens. Bits on keys look a little worn. My lock doesn't look like it's had a lot of use as old as it is. Thank a bunch.
