Default FS: Master Lock in 1995 Super Bowl commercial--PR giveaway

Greetings--I am not a collector, but a member of this site suggested that I post here.

During the 1995 National Football League Super Bowl game in the U.S., a commercial appeared that is now credited (or blamed) for the many over-the-top TV "demonstration" ads that have appeared since then. It showed a high-velocity slug being fired at a Master Lock padlock and how even with a hole blasted into the body, the lock stayed firmly closed.

Just before or after the event, a public relations firm sent me a reproduction--the same model lock (with a ragged hole seemingly made by a high-powered slug), mounted on a plastic base with a plate on the front referring to the commercial. I will attempt to attach a photo or two.

Presumably the PR firm made up some number of them, but I’ve never seen another one.

It is in excellent condition, and I would like to sell it. Does it have value to a lock collector? I would be willing to ship internationally.

I am located in the suburbs of Washington, D.C.

Thanks very much for your time and help.

There have been over the last 35 plus years since the first commercial thousands of those 'shot lock' promotional locks shipped out for displays. They are in fact shot exactly the same way the lock in the commercial was shot. The guy who does the shooting does a few hundred at a time whenever they are needed, same guy has done them all.

Yours is the first one I have seen on that kind of a base. There is even a gold plated one here at the world headquarters. I have seen them sell for $20 - $30 without the stand over the years.
