Default Whitfield 9 slider safe lock

    Hi everybody,

just to follow the topic of Bramah stile locks, here is another variation of it.
    Whitfield 9 slider lock.
I bought it in Telford and brought it back into a nice looking state.
Like the Cotterill it has angled sliders, which move horizontal.
There is a nice anti pressure device , which locks the rotor up when too much turning force is applied.
    Enjoy the pictures !!!

    Thanks for the pictures Oliver.

There are at least two other versions of this lock, a smaller and much lighter version, found with 7 or 9 slides.

And a larger two steped key version with I think 16 slides.

I will see if I can find pictures of either type.
