That's nice, does he just have the key and not the lock?
Reminiscent of the "folding key" used for some bit key locks on this side of the pond a century ago. Often made for store door rim locks to reduce unwieldy stem length by one-half and allow the key to be carried in the pocket. About 5-1/2" long when unfolded, see thumbnail of some old Ilco steel folding blanks attached.
