So, im new here and new to locks in General. I came across this lock without a key at an estate sale and thought it was interesting so I snagged it. I looked high and low and all i could find was and 1891 Lock by J.S. Peacock that resembles this one i have here. There is no patent date on the lock which confused me but any help would be greatly appreciated. I really like to know more about possible value, common or rare, really any info. Thanks
I have seen a few of these before.
There was one on eBay patent date of 1891 or 1881 stamped on the shackle
