I am looking for a key for a Yale lock case. Date 1868 to 1872.
Bill, when searching for a key that has a code and/or cut numbers, include that in your search request.
Thank you Doug. The numbers on the lock are 5668. Then under the numbers is the letter B or the #8. I don't know if the numbers are the lock # or cut #s
Would be nice if you can post picture of what lock you talking about......Timothy....
Sorry I have tried 5 or 6 times to put a picture on of the lock on here .I can't figure out how
Here is the lock Bill is looking for a key. Given the 4 digit code or cut numbers, I would say they were quite a few keys used. This is a very early flat key by Yale.
well done for uploading Doug I don't think anyone saw that one coming ! Beautiful lock and boltwork though..
Doug is not only more knowledgeable about locks than I am, He is more knowledgeable about computers. Thank you Doug
Looks like that cylinder likely uses the original Yale No. 1 pin tumbler blank which was flat with a trefoil bow and in use until 1882, see thumbnail attached. Probably only has four tumblers and one could try cutting to code using 5668, assuming it uses a direct digit code; or could be easily impressioned. I believe Ilco 1031 blank could be shortened to fit.

Pete
You right about trying to find Flat blank key #94. I have see it for a long time but have not found anyone selling those blank. Can't believe the price they want for those blank.....Timothy....
there was a box of them on ebay couple weeks ago ? i purchased his 1239 blanks but had no use for the 1094's
just tried to find them and could not find them again. They were listed in the ilco part 8 sec 6a-b on page 4,but like Pete said they are probably discontinued.
Attachment 20983the solid head ones were for sale,i cannot find them on ebay again
Like Pete and Timothy said the 1031 would work,it is n.silver the 1239 is steel and would also work, just have to shorten either one and they only have one stop instead of 2
Attachment 20984the 94 is on top of 1239 and 1031 for comparison
found some with the solid bow 1094's
