I ma looking for informations about safe (level class, manufactured, idea of the shield composition).
His external dimensions are H 1500, L 650 , P 750 + 70
internal dimensions top compartment : H 500, L 400, P 400
internal dimensions bottom compartment : H 690, L 630, P 700
weight : 1700 Kg.

Rediscovered this hidden away some 9 pages back while sorting through the threads. Wondering if you ever found out anymore on it Winter? Disappointing it didn't get any response on here as it sure looks an interesting and very impressive safe.
I had hoped one of our European members like Oliver would see it and be able to add more, as my only feeble guess was its a Lips, and that was simply going by the ball style handle, combo dial and escutcheon. The hinges and the beautifully radiused steps on the door slab are confusing and go against this as I couldn't find a Lips with hinges or door like that anywhere.
In fact, the only safes I can immediately think of with that sort of style hinges and massive radiused stepped doors were Chatwoods, and it's obviously not one of theirs! The mystery remains.
I also thought of a safe Lips as it looks a bit like this one :

But this model weighs "only" 700 Kg. But with its rounded door angles, I also find a resemblances to the old Chatwood safe.

Apart from that, I do not have any info. I am not even sure that the weight of 1700 Kg is correct.
Agreed the 1700kg weight does seem overly high for it.
The Lips you've posted for comparison is externally very similar indeed, in fact I'm more convinced on the mystery safe after seeing that, there are way too many similarities for it to be anything else.
As you know Lips were a highly respected maker and were the number one choice for heavy banking equipment in many European countries. Perhaps that particular safe is also one of a few 'specials' they made for a particular bank or customer like Chatwood did for some of theirs.
BTW I have re-titled the thread in the hope it draws more views and interest from searches, hopefully someone out there will recognise it.
Im fact, I also look for a Lips safe. Moreover, if the thickness of the walles of 5" is constitued by 3" fo steel for example, the m'as of 1700 Kg could be exact. But is this the case ? Hopefully someone will be able to provide same answers.
