About www.Antique-Locks.com Phase Two
This space, Antique-Locks.com, together with its sister site, ‘The Knowledge’ is intended to be an ever-evolving FREE resource for those interested in early locks and keys.
The art and craft of the locksmith is both fascinating and appealing. The study of locks and keys is also a study of human nature and social conditions. As such there are many different branches of speciality. This is reflected in the various forums created, I’m sure more will be created as further areas of speciality are identified and/or requested.
The study of locks and security is a topic of responsibility. Occasionally interesting technical topics of a historical locksmithing nature (opening, picking etc) are raised in a public thread. These are moved to an area of this site that isn’t open to general member access and is replaced with a link, which is password protected. I’m sure everyone understands the need for security in this area.
Antique-Locks.com is a forum with a global view of the subject and is part of a cluster of sites, which focus on this fascinating aspect of Industrial Archaeology. Hopefully you will explore the links and enjoy being part of this community.
Needless to say if you experience problems whilst using this board, check the FAQ or the user notes or ask other members for help. There are also Contact us links (at the top and bottom of every page).
