    Default Mappins Patent safe lock

    This is an example of a rare 'stepped' key Mappins safe lock. Similar to the Cotterill except it uses and ' pin ' and ' driver ' system like modern pin tumbler locks but with the principle applied to Cotterill's design. I will find some internal images of another lock and add them as a follow up to this post.
