Default How to tell a Byron Phelps Unit lock

Byron Phelps came up with the Corbin and Russwin unit locks and had some design in the Yale Mono Locks and Sargent Intregra cutout locks.

Here is some pictures of a first generation unit lock. The main difference is the pins that hold the knob are just pins and not plates like later unit locks. He talks about these pins in the 1899 patent. Please note there are NO patent dates on the dust cover.

Sorry about not refinishing this lock yet... just haven't had time. Also sorry about the poor pictures. I am thinking a 606 finish or brushed brass would look good but not over the top.
