    Default ratner safe lock

hello all, i wondered if anyone out there has any pic's of late 1800's ratner safe locks? im not sure witch ratner safe it is. the lock is the one with the brass bolt thrower, takes 6-7 g pin safe blank, and key goes in at 7o'clock and comes out at 11o'clock. the safe has a brass 't' type handle that sits horizontaly to the lower right of the escution, which is round and embossed with ratner safe co. its a medim size safe and the hinges are on the right. the brass plate is oval shape and quite plane with standard type lettering. i will try to up load a pic when ive sorted my camera out. any help would be gratefull apprecated!

hello there thank you for the reply's, it feels like there is 7 levers, it is a good quality safe solid and has about half inch anti drill plate, but got through it with a couple of hard plate bits and brute force, took some time and killed my drill!! but unfotunatly it was wrong place! hence post. ive tryed making a key but it wont have it! the levers are to the left of the bolt thrower and it appears when u turn key back to the 7 o'clock position it resets the levers on the bottom right of bolt thrower some how. if thats any help? i will try to get a pic of safe and upload it. thanks any info would be greatly apprecated!

just above and to the left of the left escution screw hole about 10'oclock from centre of bolt thrower, can see flat edges on levers looks like the gate but its not, so i did another just above and i can see the edges of the levers curving up to left. so throgh both holes i can see that they have a flat edge to left witch is vertical and on right they curve up to a point towards the left hand side ,kinda half circle shape. if that makes sence and you can picture it? the part of the levers i can see look about 10mm wide, if thats any help? thanks, andy

I'm a bit pushed for time at present. This is most likely to be the lock design. Note when drilling you need to thread the levers before applying tension ..

Andy, blindly drilling a safe is a recipe for disaster. Many older ones may only have basic locks but you should be picking these anyway.
Ratner used some fantastic locks and your first hole could have ruined a collectors item! Sounds like yours was the more standard lock but even if I was struggling to pick that, I would not be drilling at the dimensions you guessed in your last post.
Unless you have positively identified the safe and lock, please try and find out more information before drilling your next safe.
