3 Interesting combination locks.
Hi , I have had these locks for many years and wondered if someone could tell me what or where they are from. There is no keyhole on the front of any of these locks. The top lock says "VR SECURE COMBINATION PATENT", the middle lock says "SECURE COMBINATION LATCH" and the bottom lock is a CHUBB ST.PAULS CHURCHYARD LONDON. Any information would be welcome.

How does the locking/latchinf mechanisim work ?
Is it by turning the knobs?
Looks like some very early Chubb locks, great find.

This is a rim nightlatch where each levercut on the key lifted a seperate part of the deadbolt. When all are lifted correctly then the door will open - and it will slam lock. The internal handle lifts and unlocks the lock while the pin on a chain will when inserted in a hole leave the unlocked lock, on the latch.
