    Default CSA fake on Ebay

Check this out Ebay#280436465659 .I emailed the seller and tried to explain that what they think is real is really a FAKE!!!. I even gave them listings of other fakes just like theirs, but they insist that they've had experts examine their lock and confirmed it to be the real McCoy. there ought to be a law against stupidity!! I would encourage all of you to take the time and email the seller and tell them yourselves. Maybe if they were to hear it from more than one person they might pull their heads out of their you know what. Thanks for letting me steam, mark

These people either know what they have is fake or paid such high prices for stuff they don't want to hear the truth. I gave up long ago telling sellers (and buyers) that they had just bought a fake.

The only good thing is that the listing fee on that kind of auction is high, so it will cost them money !

    Wow! $10,000USD to starting price...

I also gave up contacting buyers/sellers regarding fakes a long time ago, but decided to make an exception here. The buyer does seem quite 'touchy' about the lock's authenticity now. It won't accomplish much, but I agree with Mark - if you have a spare moment, tell him the lock is fake!

One has to wonder if the two watches the same seller has listed (both starting at over $15,000USD) are fakes, too. I know that convincing fakes of the IWC Carlson he has listed do exist. The pictures aren't clear enough for me to tell if this one is the real deal or not.

Thanks guys for the backup!! What's really wierd is they had this same lock was listed before for $4,000 and they couldn't get a bid so they relisted it and raised the price. I know it won't do any good to tell them it's a fake, but now I'm kind of enjoying the fact that they're getting upset with people telling them. Please if for no other reason than helping me make my day, take a moment and go to their posting (to the ask seller a question) and tell them its a fake! Maybe if enough people tell them, they'll think twice before listing fakes in the future:twisted:

    Precisely my motivation!
He/she/they certainly seem 'slightly' upset, now. ;)

Sent a note. Just to see what there answer will be. I told them the more likely price would be $10 for a fake story lock.

I weakened and emailed them too. Not that there is probably any point.

    Thus :

    "
FYI. This item is a modern fake / fantasy item made in India. While it
would not fool an experienced lock collector as there are many hundreds of
these locks around it's just possible that a civil war area collector maybe
fooled. As such you would leave yourself open to having to refund such a
purchase in the future with the resulting damage to your bank-balance and
    reputation.

If the responses I've recieved are anything to go by, you'll both have some amusing rubbish to read from the seller in due course ;)

I really wish I could determine if the IWC watch they have listed is fake or not - IWC would act on that. Only 50 of these watches were made. There are fakes of this watch that are so good that they've tricked jewellers - it is said the only sure way to tell is to open the watch.

I also chuckled over their returns policy - 'No Returns Accepted'. Obviously they are not prepared to stand behind their fake product and false description. Buyer beware!
