Dialoc Padlock question
Hello everyone, I have been hitting eBay pretty hard lately in search of antique combo padlocks and I just won a really cool lock that I need some info on. It is called a "Dialoc" and here is what it looks like:
Looks to be made of steel (stamped body with a solid hinge shackle), and a 12 number dial with a really unique thumb turn on it. I don't have this lock in hand yet, but according to the discribtion, it doesn't have a combo, but it is damage free.
Does anybody have any info on this lock? Age, maker, value, how it operates, anything? I will post more pics once I get it in hand.
Thanks!

I got this lock in the mail yesterday just before I went to work so I haven't snapped any pictures of it yet. However, I had it open in about 30 seconds.......I couldn't resist playing with it! =)
A funny thing about this little guy is, the combo ended up being the first 3 digits of my phone number (in the correct order). Weird!!!
I will get some pictures of it when I get time.

P.S. All I could find out about this lock on my own is: It was patented in 1936, it is a 3 number lock (standard right, left, right dialing the same as a common Master combo lock), it seems to lock on both sides of the shackle, it is really small....smaller than you might think, the dial can't be turned while the lock is open, and it is not a hard lock to manipulate. The Amazing Michael~Escape Artist/Magician/Entertainer/Locksmith/Lock, Handcuff, and Restraint Collector......and one HELL of a model American! =)

Okay, I shot some pics of this little guy.....here they are:
Also, I took a closer look at this lock and discovered that even though there is a notch by the tip of the opening side of the shackle, there is nothing to lock into it; it locks on the non-opening side only.

Nice
That dialoc is pretty neat looking. I thought I had found one on the cheap ($3 shipped to me), but it didn't work out. I never saw another one other than the one I thought I had found. It's neat to see someone else has one.
I wonder how rare it actually is?
Either way, neat lock for the collection. It also still looks really good for its age! Enjoy it!
