Need information on this old lock
My husband has this lock he is trying to do research on but cannot find out anything. The only markings on this are CN Z; it's brass and about 3 inches long. Please help if you can. Thanks Matt and Bekki

lever lock
Has anyone ever heard of Climbmax lock company? WB thinks this lock is one of theirs but when I do a search it comes up with a sporting company, nothing to do with locks.

Give it a bit of time for one of our padlock collectors login. I seem remember that this was a brand name but I am not sure about that.

that particular style of lock has been made by many companies through the years, just a few are;
Yale
Climax
WB
Ames Sword
Corbin
Youir lock may have been made by any one of those or yet another brand name. When they aren't marked they just fall into the general 'Heart Shaped' classification.

Thank you for the information. I have contacted WB who thinks its a climax lock. If I find out the origin, I'll write a new post. Thanks for your help. Bekki

It appears like the chain is machine made, it looks to perfect to be anything else.

Would this be used on a train signal lock box? And approximately how old would you guess it to be 1950's
