Two other codes you might try are R14-L8-R7-L2-R4. If that dosen't work try R8-L8-R7-L2-R4. All of these codes would start from zero. Let me know, Mark

Jim, unfortunetly the Reed codes for 4 digit numbers the last 3 digits are in the 125-249 range. The 3 digit numbers the last 2 digits are 00-74. If it were me,( and I have plenty of time at night to tinker around) I would go with the 4 digit and start it with R1-L8-R7-L2-R4 and if that didn't work, bump the first number up by 1 and repeat(R2- etc) For some reason the codes I've found that were off were usually in the first digit. You may have to go up to 18 on the first digit. If that dosn't work I don't know what else to try, sorry. Mark

Jim, I don't have any codes for the master or american locks. Also these locks are still made and in use today, so I'm not sure if Merlin wants to put out working codes on a open web site. Maybe he'll step in and give us the official verdict. Mark

    Hi Mark,
Oh ok, not a problem. I do have an old set of the reed codes on Microfiche, so if I have to, I'll dig out the machine and look them up myself. (just tryin to save time LOL)
    Thanks.
    Jim.

I would have to agree with the no posting of active code series. As both those are still active and in production I would have to pull them until admin tells me otherwise. My suggestion is to take all of them to a locksmith and see if you can get a bulk deal (several codes for less than a single). You never know what you can get until you ask. Several of the combo from both companies never showed up in the Reed books.

Oldbiscuit and Halflock are correct. The main focus must be on Antique / Historical issues and must admit that although this is a legitimate aspect for collectors it does have a security implication when discussed publicly.

Not a problem at all. I AM a locksmith, and do have the reed code series, but it's on Microfiche and haven't needed to use it in a long time, I was just seeing if I could save time, but it makes sense. As a locksmith AND collector, sometimes the line gets a little blurry. My bad.

Not a problem Jim. Being a Locksmith and a collector myself it is something we have to keep in mind. (We are a sick bunch aren't we, to collect what we work with!)
