Please help identify this old lock and key
I recently found this old lock and keys at a local flea market. It is unmarked and I could use some help identifying what type of lock it is, and possible vintage.
Thanks,
Bob

This will be a tough one. This lock doesn't look to be more than a warded lock. It could have been made any time in the last 300 years. Unless there is a makers mark somewhere on the lock I don't think we will get very far. That could have been made 10 years ago in the middle east.
Can you post a picture of the back of the lock?Last edited by Halflock; 06-09-10 at 12:11 AM.

It is a surface mounted lock made by a Blacksmith or Locksmith. I believe the key
isn't the original one. This lock was mounted in a block of hardwood and then bolted
to the door. Age is hard to determine? Could be recent as the 1930's or date back
a few hundred years?
