    Default Sprung Deadbolt lock

Here you are then. Found this among my odds and ends in the garage. I wonder how many of these are still in use today I found the original key to it but had taken the pictures first Its been shoved in the back of the drawer for about forty years.
I know all about this lock but how many of you do? One little clue is the lever spring wire.
All of you will know I am sure.

    regards to all Antnee

Could it be a Tann lock?

    Default Sprung Deadbolt lock

    Hello Magpie.
Yes your are right. It is a John Tann Grille lock, as you probably saw the lever springing is steel with the Tann style fixing in the brass lever.

The lock itself has no no number so can't date it exactly all it has is a casting pattern no in the lock body and the same number on the underside of the bolt platform. So its more than likely circa 1920-1930's
If anyone has more info would welcome it.
